On Sunday 9th March 2008, Nairne's main street and its surroundings will be the centre of our celebrations for the Award winning Nairne Founders Day. So why are we celebrating? It is a day to acknowledge the work of those who have gone before us, and to savour what our unique township has to offer. There will be a fine array of family activities, stalls to browse at your leisure, and the local traders will be offering Founders Day specials. The organisers aim to provide something for all ages, with a particular pioneer flavour. Download the programme of the day's events. This day is made possible through the volunteer work of a small group of Nairne residents who would like to see Naime community members meeting and enjoying our beautiful historic village. Time to start getting prepared for this exciting day.

FAMILY
This year's featured
family is the Daltons who arrived in Nairne in 1850 and lived there
continously until around 1970. More details to follow.
THE NAIRNE FOUNDERS
TRAIL
We will also be
running the Nairne Founders Trail which is $5 passport which provides
an
opportunity to collect almost $40 worth of items on the trail. You will
get a stamp at each location and completed forms will be
entered into a draw which will be announced later in the day. The draw
winner will get a $200 Microbric Robotic Development Kit.
