On Sunday 11th March 2007, Nairne's main street and its surroundings was the centre of our celebrations for the Award winning Nairne Founders' Day. So why are we celebrating? It is a day to acknowledge the work of those who have gone before us, and to savour what our unique township has to offer. There will be a fine array of family activities, stalls to browse at your leisure, and the local traders will be offering Founder's Day specials. The organisers aim to provide something for all ages, with a particular pioneer flavour. Download the programme of the day's events. This day is made possible through the volunteer work of a small group of Nairne residents who would like to see Naime community members meeting and enjoying our beautiful historic village. Time to start getting prepared for this exciting day.

Day logo for 2007. It recognises the discovery of subterranean clover
near Nairne by Amos Howard, our founder for 2007.
This discovery is marked by a plaque on the Princes Highway just before Bald Hills Rd, heading towards Littlehampton. It revolutionised the pastoral industry in Australia and, in combination with superphosphate, rejuvenated tired land bringing prosperity to the farming industry. TRAIL
We will also be
running the Nairne Heritage Trail which is $5 passport which provides
an
opportunity to collect almost $50 worth of items on the trail. You will
get a stamp at each location and completed forms will be
entered into a draw which will be announced later in the day. The draw
winner will get a $200 Microbric Robotic development Kit. More details
later.
